On April 17, the first round of the European RMR tournament, which is held under the Swiss system, came to an end. 16 teams entered the competition for eight slots in the majors. Based on the results of the opening matches, all participants were divided into two groups depending on whether they won or lost. As a result, the grid of the second round was formed, which started in the afternoon of the same day.
The results of most of the first round matches were quite expected: the favorites in the starting pairs managed to win without any difficulties. Vitality in particular, despite their recent problems, won by a significant margin against Dignitas, thanks largely to the efforts of Matthew «ZyWoo» Erbo. Fnatic showed about the same level difference in the match against GamerLegion: it beat the latter with a score of 16 – 5 on Nuke, with Valentin «poizon» Vasilev achieving an impressive rating of 1.99.
The most difficult thing to predict was the result of the confrontation between MOUZ and OG, as the teams are currently occupying neighboring places in the rankings. In the end, OG won on Mirage effortlessly, gaining an edge even from the change of sides and eventually ending the match with a score of 16 – 12. Finally, Germany's BIG had no problems with Portugal's SAW (16 – 5).
In the second round of the Swiss qualifying phase, the teams, now divided into two groups, will have to play another series of best-of-1 matches.
