WePlay has detailed how the second season of the Academy League will play out. It will feature youth teams from the same eight eSports organizations as the first one. The prize fund will be $100,000, and the final stage, where it will be played, will be held in November in Kiev.
At the same time, the format of the first part of the tournament will change compared to last season. The eight teams will be divided into two groups. The two participants, who at the end of the group stage will take the leading positions, will go directly to the final stage. Those who finish in second and third place will qualify for the «last chance group», where they will fight for two more tickets to the next stage of the tournament.
The group stage will take place from September 28 to October 9 in an online format. The four teams that will make it to the finals will play at the WePlay Esports Arena in Kiev on November 12 - 14.
The first season of the Academy League took place in July-August 2021. Then mouz NXT took first place, Young Ninjas came in second, and the last spots in the final four were taken by BIG Academy and fnatic Rising. Several young talented players such as Ilya «m0NESY» Osipov from NAVI Junior or Julian «regali» Hariau from fnatic Rising were able to prove themselves at these competitions.
