Virtus.pro tops the world ranking

Virtus.pro, which plays in overseas tournaments under the name Oustiders, topped the world rankings after winning the IEM Rio Major. The tournament concluded on Sunday, Nov. 13, with Jame «Jame» Ali's team, which was previously ranked sixth in the rankings, managed to gain enough ranking points to climb straight to the top spot for the first time in its history. This achievement came as a surprise to many analysts, as prior to the tournament many did not see Outsiders as a contender to win.

Heroic also advanced to the top and is now in second place. Cloud9 now completes the top 3. Next are Natus Vincere, which was eliminated from the tournament in the quarterfinals, and FURIA, which reached the semifinals of the playoffs.

According to the results of the tournament, Vitality, FaZe and Liquid lost the most in the ranking, which before the major were in the top three places in the list, and now are on the seventh, eighth and ninth respectively. G2 also lost a few positions, which failed to qualify for the majors and now finds itself in 12th place.

The ranking takes into account the major achievements of teams over the past year, with recent victories carrying more weight. Performance statistics for the last three months are also taken into account. In addition, wins in LAN events and competitions that take place in an online format carry different weight.
