Virtus.pro commented on the sanctions imposed on the team

The leadership of the cybersports organization Virtus.pro has made critical comments about the sanctions imposed on the team by ESL. On Wednesday, the organizer of the tournaments announced a ban on teams with ties to the Russian government or companies that are under European Union sanctions. Thus, Virtus.pro fell under restrictions due to its ties with «SOGaz».

In response to this, Virtus.pro stated that it has no relation to state institutions, and therefore there is no reason to restrict the team's participation in tournaments. The organization called what happened a typical manifestation «of the culture of cancellation», a consequence of external pressure and prejudice, but nevertheless decided not to ban its cyber athletes from participating in competitions.

According to Virtus.pro representatives, such a decision would be a response of aggression to aggression, and this is not something that will help find the best way out. It would be unfair to devalue the players' efforts and preparation time by denying them the opportunity to perform. Thus, the management left the final decision to the players themselves, who have not yet commented on the situation.
