Valdemar "valde" Björn-Wangsa leaves the OG lineup

After a poor start to the year, OG made the decision to rebuild the roster. The organization announced mid-week that Valdemar «valde» Björn-Wangsa will leave the active roster. Thus will end his cooperation with the team, in which he spent two and a half years. Thus, Mateusz «mantuu» Wilczewski is now the only player who played for the original OG roster.

After Nemanja «nexa» Isakovic became the new OG ingame leader, the team had a successful performance at the BLAST Premier Spring Groups, but failed to make significant progress after that. It finished IEM Katowice in last place and then failed to qualify for PGL Major Antwerp.

In a statement posted on the OG website, valde says that over time his vision of how the team should evolve has diverged from the management's vision: «After a very disappointing RMR, we had many discussions and agreed that we should part ways. So we decided that I will leave my position and focus on finding a new team where I can realize my ambitions».

Interestingly, in 2022 valde was second on the team in average performance, behind only mantuu. However, the difference in approach apparently turned out to be more significant for the OG leadership: in a recent interview valde explained that the organization wants to build the roster anew by inviting young players, while he himself was not in agreement with this idea.
