All 16 teams participating in the Legends stage at PGL Major Antwerp have agreed not to exploit a bug recently discovered in the game. Earlier videos of G2 matches against Imperial and Natus Vincere were published, which showed that Ilya «monesy» Osipov uses a special smoke grenade, which makes invisible part of the veil created by opponents. Monesy used this technique in both matches, allowing him to locate his opponent more effectively. Although the player claims that the tournament administration had previously allowed the stunt, the situation caused outrage in the community.
Representatives of many teams participating in the major have demanded that the use of this type of grenade at the tournament be banned, as its effect is clearly a bug. However, the PGL confirmed on Saturday that it will allow it to be used during the majors and in the future.
To avoid controversy, all Legends stage participants have made «a gentleman's agreement» that they will not use the technique in future matches. This was confirmed by the CSPAA (an organization of professional CS: GO players). Her spokesman, Martin «STYKO» Stick, who took it upon himself to organize the participants to vote on the issue, said that «all teams in the majors agreed not to use the smoke grenade bug».
