Tournament organizer Fragadelphia, in partnership with Nerd Street Games, has announced the return of its key offline event: a competition called Fragadelphia 15 will take place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with a minimum prize pool of $35,000. Up to 64 teams will be able to compete for them, and the amount of prize money will also increase as the number of participants grows.
The last time the Fragadelphia tournament, aimed primarily at young and promising cybersports players in North America, was held in December 2019. Then it was won by a team that consisted of three former Cloud9 players and two other cyber athletes who later moved to the Chaos project.
Fragadelphia 15 will kick off 10 – on September 12. Leading up to the championship, Nerd Street Gamers is organizing several other events in different cities across the United States. The proceeds from these will help cover the costs of organizing the tournament, as well as travel expenses for teams that need it. Registration for these local competitions is now open, and the first one will be held in Philadelphia in late July.
