NIP coach to miss BLAST Premier Fall group stage due to personal circumstances

Swedish team NIP has announced that the BLAST Premier Fall group stage will have Jonas Gundersen as its coach in place of Björn «THREAT» Pörs. The latter is currently one of the heads of a cyber sports organization. He used to play CS 1.6 professionally in the past, ending his career as a player in 2006. One of the leadership positions in NIP he has held since 2020.

THREAT's absence is expected to be temporary and he will return to his duties at subsequent events. If he gets the opportunity, he will help the team at BLAST as well, although Gundersen is officially listed as the coach. In any case, the tournament could prove to be a tough one for NIP as it will face teams like BIG and G2 in the group stage.

In an official statement about the substitution, THREAT explained his absence by unexpected circumstances, but did not go into details: «Due to some short-term unforeseen personal circumstances, I will not be able to participate in these matches, and we decided that it would be better to announce a coach who will definitely be able to attend… But I will absolutely continue to work with the team, and hopefully I will be able to appear at the game, even if without logging in».
