Amiran «ami» Rekhviashvili, currently serving as NAVI Junior coach, gave an interview to WePlay portal, in which he spoke about the principles of selecting players for the main squad. He said that NAVI's approach to roster building can be considered unique among top teams. Instead of spending large sums on the transfer of famous players, the management of Natus Vincere invests in the development of the youth squad. In the future, it is planned that all cyber athletes who get into the main roster of the team will be selected from among the academy participants.
This approach has already shown its effectiveness. Thus, Valery «B1T» Vakhovsky, who previously played for NAVI Junior, moved to the main squad. Ilya «m0NESY» Osipov was mentioned by ami as another promising cyber athlete. He believes that other members of the youth team will make significant progress in the coming year.
Ami noted that Natus Vincere has not bought new players for almost two years, since the transition to the Perfecto team. The same approach will be realized in the future: the selection of talented participants will be carried out through junior composition.
Besides, the development of promising players – is not the only task that is solved with the help of NAVI Junior. It's also a media project to attract fans and build the team's image.
