Evil Geniuses has announced the signing of American cyber athlete Timothy «autimatic» Tay. Thus, he returns to CS: GO after a year at Valorant. He tried to change discipline after Cloud9's results deteriorated noticeably, despite repeated changes in the roster.
Prior to joining Valorant, Autimatic was one of the most decorated American cybersports players in CS: GO: during the period when Timothy played for Cloud9, he was named MVP at ESL Pro League Season 4, and in 2018 he was ranked 17th in the individual world rankings. His team has won majors and tournaments such as DreamHack Open Denver and IBUYPOWER Masters in 2017.
If speculation about what the new Evil Geniuses lineup will be like is correct, autimatic will face two former Cloud9 teammates – it's Jake «Stewie2K» Yip and William «RUSH» Vejba. In addition, two cyber athletes from the previous roster will remain on the team.
It is still unclear what role autimatic will take on in the team. Prior to his move to Valorant, he performed as a hybrid player, but now the roles of sniper and ingame leader have been filled. Timothy will probably have to concentrate on getting up to speed on the changes in the discipline over the past year.
