The American cybersports organization Evil Geniuses has announced that Tarik «tarik» Celik is leaving its roster, where he has been listed for the past two years. He signed with Evil Geniuses in 2019 when it acquired the former NRG roster. With his involvement, Evil Geniuses won several important titles. One of the most notable moments was the victory at ESL One New York 2019, which put Evil Geniuses at the top of the world rankings for a while.
The team experienced a bit of a slump in early 2020, but things picked up in the early summer and they managed to win some major online tournaments. However, after that the team disappointed fans time after time and by the beginning of 2021 fell out of the top 10 of the world ranking after a number of defeats at the qualifying stages of competitions.
In April 2021, tarik was sent to the reserves and in recent months has concentrated on developing his career as a streamer. The team, meanwhile, continued to underperform, and at the end of the year its management decided to radically overhaul the roster. It is already known that Damien «maLeK» Marcel will be the new head coach of Evil Geniuses. The organization is also in talks with several other cyber athletes.
