Cedric RpK Goipue has decided to end his career

French cyber athlete Cedric «RpK» Goipouet, at the age of 32, has announced the end of his CS: GO appearances. His professional career began in 2006, and during that time he has proven himself first in Counter Strike: Source and then in Global Offensive. In his tweet, he commented on the decision as follows: «Today marks the end of a long and remarkable career. It started many years ago, it's had its ups and downs, but I've always loved what I do. I am grateful for your support over the years, and I won't forget it».

During the Counter Strike: Source era, RpK was considered one of the best players in the world, and the VeryGames team he was a part of dominated the international scene. In 2012, he joined Global Offensive, but soon announced his retirement from cybersport after several unsuccessful performances.

However, in 2014, he changed his mind when his former teammates invited him to participate in the Titan project, which brought together players from different European countries. RpK agreed, and while he didn't manage to achieve as outstanding a performance as he did in Source, he remained one of the most prominent French players for a long time. RpK played for G2, Envy and Vitality, with the latter being at the top of the world team rankings for ten weeks.
