PGL has announced the rescheduled dates on which open qualifiers will be held. Three of the four qualification rounds that will earn teams spots in the Asian Ranking Tournament, one of the stages on the road to PGL Major Antwerp, have been moved up.
Open qualification dates for teams from Oceania remain unchanged, while the events for China, the Middle East and Asia will move a week later than the original date. They are now scheduled for February 26-27. According to the representatives of the organizer of the tournaments, such a decision was made after negotiations with several teams that are going to take part in the qualifiers.
Initially, the three mentioned stages were to start just eight days after their dates were announced. This drew criticism from representatives of several teams, including TYLOO CEO Dong Wei «Kindy» Yan and NKT player Anthony «ImpressioN» Lim. PGL has previously had to adjust the dates of European and North American ranking tournament qualifiers to avoid overlap with the IEM Katowice and BLAST Premier Spring Showdown.
