ESL has announced the lineups for all of the upcoming IEM Fall events. These are six tournaments that will take place around the world, including a 24-team event in Europe and competitions for the CIS and North America with 12 teams each. Events in other regions will be more modest: Asia, Oceania and South America will each have four competitors.
In the largest tournament, the IEM Fall for Europe, four groups of six competitors will start the competition. Most of them – are the top teams of the region, but there will also be a few teams that have passed to the main part of the competition according to the results of several stages of qualifying. The group stage will be conducted in round robin format, and two participants from each group will qualify for the playoffs.
In the CIS tournament, teams will be divided into two groups of six teams. In Group A there were two teams occupying the top positions in the RMR ranking of CIS countries – Natus Vincere and Spirit. In Group B, the main battle will unfold between Gambit (third place in the ranking) and such teams as forZe, K23 and Virtus.pro. A similar format (two groups of six teams) will be followed in this stage of the tournament in North America.
