According to the results of the first day of the IEM Rio Major playoffs, the participants of the first semifinal match became known. They were MOUZ and Outsiders.
Outsiders won a pretty convincing victory over fnatic, with just two cards. On Inferno, she won with a score of 16 – 11 and on Mirage, her lead was twofold (16 – 8). Evgeny «FL1T» Lebedev especially distinguished himself, showing the highest rating on the server – 1.41.
The Outsiders' opponent will be MOUZ, who sent home Cloud9. She needed three cards to do it. The first of them (Inferno), the Russian team was able to record on their account, although with a small advantage (11 – 16). On the following maps the opponents' strengths seemed almost equal for some time, but in the end MOUZ managed to achieve a decisive advantage: Overpass went to it with a score of 16 – 13, and the decisive Ancient with a more convincing result (16 – 9).
The semifinal match, in which the teams will fight for the right to get to the grand final, will take place on Saturday at 20:00 Moscow time. And in the evening on Friday will determine the participants of the second semifinal, and the attention of the audience will be primarily focused on the confrontation between FURIA and Natus Vincere.
