Swedish eSports organization NIP has announced a contract extension with the player who has been playing for it the longest of its current members. Frederik «REZ» Sterner will thus spend the next three years with the team. This news comes shortly after NIP defeated Team One in another ESL Pro League match 2-0, with REZ winning the final round after finishing last against four opposing players.
The cyber athlete, now 23, has been playing for NIP for four years. He joined the team in 2017 and now, after extending his contract, will remain with the team until 2025. Sterner himself commented on the news as follows: «At the time I joined the organization, I was just a nub, and there were a lot of experienced players around me. I am now ready to share my own wisdom». In the last three months REZ has reached a rating of 1.10, almost equal to the best player of the team – Nikolai «device» Ridz, whose rating is 1.11.
The team management has high hopes for the player. One of NIP's executives, Jonas Gundersen, believes REZ is now in the prime of its career. He has come a long way in recent years and continues to develop, so he will have an important role to play in the team's continued success.
