NAVI won the final of PGL Major Stockholm

Team Natus Vincere defeated G2 in the final match of PGL Major Stockholm, thus winning first place and a prize of 1 million dollars. In addition, NAVI managed to do something no other major winner had ever done before: arrive at the finals without losing a single card. Alexander «s1mple» Kostylev got the well-deserved MVP title (seventeenth in his career, but the first at a major), finishing with an impressive rating of 1.47.

The first map of the match was Ancient, chosen by G2, and it was almost equal: one or the other team was ahead by one or two points, and only at the end NAVI managed to achieve a stable advantage, leaving the map with a score of 16 – 11. Now all they had to do was win on Nuke, which they picked themselves, but the draw of that card made fans of both teams work up quite a few nerves. At one point, G2 were leading by 7 – 14, but Natus Vincere were able to win back such a significant gap, equalize the score and take the game into overtime. In the end, despite the best efforts of G2, NAVI managed to win this map with a three-point advantage (22 – 19).

The Major Grand Final was the biggest cybersport event of the year in the world of professional CS: GO. According to organizers, it was watched by about 2.75 million viewers at its highest online moment. For past years' competitions, the record values did not exceed one and a half million.
