On Nov. 29, Team NAVI claimed the BLAST Premier Fall trophy with a 2 – 1 victory over Vitality in the tournament's grand finals. Thus, for the CIS team this is the third consecutive LAN-tournament victory, after IEM Cologne and PGL Major.
However, NAVI did not win the BLAST Premier Fall without effort. After winning the first map (Mirage), despite being picked by the opponents, it unexpectedly lost to Nuke with a resounding score of 16 – 6, and this despite the fact that in the last six months NAVI has not lost on this map once. The outcome of the match was decided on Inferno, where the French cyber athletes were unable to keep up the pace set by NAVI and often failed to react to their attacks. As a result, by the end of the card draw the advantage of CIS players was quite significant: 16 – 7.
The winner of the tournament MVP title was Alexander «s1mple» Kostylev. This is the eighteenth such accomplishment of his career, and the seventh in the past year. That puts him on par with Nikolaj «device» Ridtz, who was MVP seven times in 2018. Before the end of the year, s1mple still has a chance to surpass the Dane's achievement – in mid-December, NAVI will have to compete at the BLAST Premier World Final.
