Movistar Riders will take part in IEM Katowice instead of Complexity

At the end of the week it became known that American Complexity will not be able to take part in the IEM Katowice play-in due to positive coronavirus test results. Their place in the tournament will be taken by the Spanish team Movistar Riders, which occupies the next place in the ESL Pro Tour ranking.

Earlier it was reported that two more players will miss the first major LAN-tournament of the year due to coronavirus. This is Robin «ropz» Kool from FaZe and Aurimas «Bymas» Pipiras from MOUZ. However, these two teams decided to still participate in the tournament by including substitute players. In addition, China's TYLOO recently withdrew from the competition, unable to travel to Europe due to anti-epidemic restrictions. Her place at IEM Katowice went to Sprout.

Movistar Riders is now ranked 23rd in the world rankings and recently finished ESL Challenger February in 5th-6th place. Its highest achievement in the last year was the 14th place in the rankings in October 2021 and participation in the Challenger stage at the PGL Stockholm Major.

Complexity's recent results are hard to call stable, and missing Katowice performance will be another setback for the team. She recently finished in last place at BLAST Premier Spring Groups, suffering six straight losses, but later managed to finish in the top four at ESL Challenger February.
