Jason «moses» About’Toole, who has been Liquid's coach since the middle of last year, has given an interview, revealing that he has no plans to pursue coaching in the future.
Talking to journalist Richard Lewis, moses said that during his time at Liquid he tried to find different approaches to solving problems in the team in order to maintain a high level of play. He also tried to create the right mindset so that the players understood how to work towards a common goal. At the same time, O‘Toole admits that he lacked knowledge of the game and the ability to find contact with cyber athletes, given their mentality. As a result, the need to deeply understand the strategic features of Counter Strike and other intricacies of professional gaming proved too difficult for him.
Moses believes he has essentially failed Liquid, which he ran from August 2020 to May 2021. During this period, the team did not win a single victory at significant cybersport events. O’Toole has realized that the coaching position is not for him and has no plans to return to the job in the near future. He is now back as an analyst and commentator for cybersports events, working with a major ESL tournament organizer.
