Chinese team ViCi has announced that they will not be taking part in the BLAST Premier Showdown despite being able to qualify. Her place will be taken by Lynn Vision, who finished in the next place at the end of qualifying.
ViCi, which is led by Zhuo «advent» Liang, has decided to give up a spot in the BLAST Premier Showdown to concentrate on preparing for the IEM Fall Asia tournament, which will be held from October 5-10. Otherwise, the team's schedule would have been too stressful due to players having to fly to Europe, which could have affected results. That said, the IEM Fall Asia results are of greater importance to ViCi. In the Asian regional ranking ViCI shares the first place with TYLOO, and the outcome of the tournament will determine which of them will be able to go to the Major in Stockholm.
Thus, Lynn Vision unexpectedly got a chance to have a bootcamp in Europe for a few weeks and then try to prove herself in the BLAST Premier Showdown. It's hard to say how far the team, ranked 145th in the world ranking, will be able to advance: the tournament is held in single elimination format, and among its participants are – such teams as Liquid and G2.
