Kingfisher to become Renegades coach

The Renegades cybersports organization has announced that David «Kingfisher» Kingsford will be the head coach of its CS: GO squad. The team was forced to go without a coach for more than half a year after Torbjörn «mithR» Nyborg joined mousesports at the end of 2020.

As a player, Kingfisher played for Downfall and Paradox, but has been working as a coach since 2019. In particular, he has worked with Australian teams Ground Zero and Avant and was instrumental in the latter's success at Dream Hack Open Summer and Dream Hack Masters Spring Oceania.

In a video published to mark his move to Renegades, Kingsford said he is looking forward to working with the team in Cologne and hopes that the players will be able to bring good results from the tournament. He will soon be busy organizing training sessions before the upcoming matches. His contribution to the team's preparation will be crucial for the Renegades as, they will be facing strong opponents. They will play their first match at IEM Cologne Play In on July 6 against Vitality. The Renegades expect to advance to the main stage of the tournament, which will be held in late August – early September.
