Professional players who spend a lot of time in CS:GO often attach special importance to the choice of skin. Far not always they choose the most expensive coloring – it can be just some unusual design option, a gift or a talisman that brings good luck. Here are some interesting stories about skins used by cyber athletes.
Nemanja «nexa» Isakovic from OG tells a nice, but a bit sad story about the most notable skin from his skin collection. He received his M4A4 The Emperor as a gift from his girlfriend, who always cheers him on and comes to cheer on the team at most competitions.
But the player admits that he doesn't use this skin that often – because of the M4A1-S's performance to gain an advantage. Other skins that have earned special nexa – attention include AK-47 Wild Lotus and Butterfly Gamma Doppler. The automaton – is the first truly expensive in-game item he was able to buy, and the bowie knife fell out of a briefcase during Riptide Operation, and the player has considered it to be good luck ever since.
Alexander «s1mple» Kostylev from Natus Vincere is known for his collection of rare skins – in 2021 he had more than two hundred items in his collection. He changes skins on AWPs quite often. He is often seen with the AK-47 Point Disarray and the M4A1-S Printstream.
Kevin «misutaaa» Rabier from Vitality lists AK-47 Fire Serpent among his favorite skins. He mentions that he's been attached to it for quite some time and is unlikely to agree to trade it for anything. He also likes Desert Eagle Blaze and M4A4 Howl, though the current meta is such that the occasion to use the latter seems rare.
Rafael «exit» Lacerda demonstrates a great sense of style in his choice of skins: all three colorings, which he lists among his favorites, follow roughly the same design principles. These are the Desert Eagle and M4A1-S Printstream, as well as the AK-47 Bloodsport, and the design of these items can be characterized as crisp, modern and minimalistic.
Richard «shox» Papillon, formerly of Team Liquid, is a member of the previous generation of players. He doesn't place much importance on skin fashion, but his choice is still quite remarkable. The fact that he lists M4A1-S Night Terror and USP-S Ticket To Hell among his favorite skins fits his love of heavy music, and the Gamma Doppler Phase 1 bowie knife is a great addition to this collection.
