Danish cyber athlete Christian «k0nfig» Wieneke will likely not renew his contract with Complexity, which expires on January 1, 2022. This is reported by Jaxon, citing multiple sources. There is a high probability that k0nfig will change teams, moving to Astralis.
K0nfig is currently missing one match after another due to a wrist injury. Although he recently reported that his recovery was going well, the break will drag on until at least November, and he will be replaced by Marcello «coldzera» David at upcoming Complexity tournaments. It is likely that after the expiration of k0nfig's contract, the Brazilian will take a permanent place in the team.
For Astralis itself, the coming months will be a transition period. The contracts of three key players, as well as coach Danny «zonic» Sørensen, also expire at the end of the year, and for some time now analysts have been making predictions about how the roster might change after that. The Astralis recently extended the contract of Lucas «gla1ve» Rossander, who will remain with the team for three years. It's also safe to assume that Lukas «Bubzkji» Andersen and the recently joined Philip «Lucky» Ewald will continue to perform for her. And in place of one of the other two players may well appear k0nfig.
The recent statement of Andreas «Xyp9x» Heuslet that he is considering various options to further build his career has also added to the rumors. He did not appear in the group stage of ESL Pro League Season 14, giving way to Lucky.
