Four cyber athletes who were part of Heroic during the period when it was coached by Nicholas «HUNDEN» Petersen recorded a video titled «Our Story» («Our Story») in which they shared their perspective on these events. Three of them (cadiaN, stavn and TeSeS) are still playing for Heroic, while another one (b0RUP) is currently playing for MAD Lions.
On Monday, ESIC released a statement about the conclusion of the investigation into the statements of HUNDEN, who claimed that other players were also aware of the use of the coaching bug. In the end, ESIC decided that the evidence supporting the guilt of the rest of the team was insufficient. It limited itself to a mild punishment against Nikolaj «niko» Christensen, who had previously pleaded guilty and probably did discuss with HUNDEN the possible use of the cheat.
The player will now have to report monthly to an ESIC representative for six months. The mildness of the punishment is due to the fact that, as ESIC found, niko's psychological characteristics make him vulnerable to manipulation, which was taken advantage of by HUNDEN, who convinced the player that using the coaching bug was not a problem.
In the half-hour video, Heroic players said that the information about HUNDEN's cheating was a big surprise to them, as he had never tried to break the rules before. That's why they didn't immediately notice that HUNDEN and niko were engaging the cheat, and then didn't immediately realize how to react properly. Also in the video, the cyber athletes elaborated on other points of conflict with HUNDEN, including accusations of passing strategic information to the other team.
