Hunden will return to the Heroic lineup after his disqualification ends

Twenty-nine-year-old cybersports player Nicolai «HUNDEN» Petersen will return to the Danish team Heroic as a coach starting May 1. On this day, the ban imposed on him by ESIC for using «coaching bug». expires. It is possible that he will take part in Heroic's appearances at DreamHack Masters Spring if the team successfully passes the first days of the group stage.

HUNDEN has been suspended from competition for eight months due to a penalty imposed on him by ESIC. In September 2020, a total of more than thirty coaches who used a bug in Counter Strike to get information about their opponents' actions received the ban. The sentence for HUNDEN was reduced from ten months to eight months due to the fact that he assisted ESIC in the investigation of the infringements.

Eric Askered, Heroic's spokesperson, spoke about Petersen's return to the team as follows: «HUNDEN – our man. We've said it before and we'll say it again. He made a huge contribution not only to the development of Heroic, but also to the establishment of the professional scene as a whole. We all know that Nicolai made a big mistake and strayed from the values we espouse. But he not only acknowledged it and accepted the punishment, but also made many efforts to ensure that such cases would not be repeated in the future».
