Tournament organizer BLAST has announced that Norway's Heroic has become a partner of BLAST Premier tournaments, taking over the spot formerly held by MIBR. This way, the team, which is currently backed by a Danish roaster led by Kasper «cadiaN» Møller, will get a guaranteed spot at every event in the series along with other partners including Natus Vincere, FaZe and G2.
According to the organizers, Immortals Gaming Club, which owns MIBR, has decided to sell its seat. An auction ensued, attracting the attention of several leading cybersports organizations, the names of which were not disclosed. BLAST Premier Managing Director Charlotte Kenny noted that Heroic have made a strong case for being among Counter Strike's elite: «Their impressive performances at last year's tournament in Copenhagen – are a prime example of how they can prove themselves at our events. And the level of interest, competition and engagement associated with the purchase of this slot is also indicative of how much the BLAST Premier tournament has grown over the past year».
This is the second change to the BLAST partner lineup since the twelve member organizations were announced at the end of 2019. Previously, BIG replaced 100Thieves after the latter decided to leave CS: GO.
