On March 16, the grand finals of the Pinnacle Winter Series 3 tournament came to a close. In it, Danish team Heroic defeated Copenhagen Flames on two maps. She earned $40,000 in prize money and secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the LAN Sweet LAN event, which will soon be held in Belgrade, Serbia.
With her performance at the Pinnacle Winter Series 3, Heroic has shown that she is fifth in the world rankings for a reason. On its way to the final, it defeated Apeks and ECSTATIC by a score of 2 – 0, with three of the four maps being won by significant margins.
This win – is not the team's only achievement in the last six months. She finished in 3rd-4th place at major competitions such as PGL Major Stockholm and BLAST Premier Fall Final. Although the team's performance dropped slightly at the end of last year, it managed to get back into top form and finished in the top 4 at the recently concluded IEM Katowice.
Thus, the nine teams that will take part in the LAN Sweet LAN in April 2022 have already been determined. They include Virtus.pro, Heroic, Entropiq, forZe and others. It remains unclear for now who will get the slot that FunPlus Phoenix originally occupied after it was dissolved.
