Lucas «gla1ve» Rossander, who plays for Astralis, has announced that he will not be participating in ESL One Cologne, contrary to the expectations of fans, many of whom were counting on his return. The player has been inactivated since May. He is still part of the Astralis lineup, but is temporarily out of games due to medical reasons. He recently revealed that he is looking forward to returning to professional play, but he is yet to get into proper shape by the second half of August, when ESL One Cologne takes place.
The gla1ve statement was released after a Danish themed publication mentioned that the player is registered as a substitute for ESL One Cologne along with Andreas «xyp9x» Häusleth. It has been speculated that these two players, who have not appeared in matches since the spring, will occupy the two substitute slots available to each team under the tournament rules.
Although the hopes of the team's fans were not realized, they still hope that Astralis will be able to show a good result at the tournament. The lineup announced for ESL One Cologne will feature Patrick «es3tag» Hansen, who joined the team as a free agent after his contract with Heroic expired, and former Mad Lions player Lucas «Bubzkij» Andersen, whose deal was reached a week ago.
