Insider Guillaume «neL» Canelo reported that negotiations between G2 and NAVI for the transfer of Ilya «m0NESY» Osipov, who was part of NAVI Junior, have been successful. According to a publication on the news portal 1pv.cs, the deal could be worth as much as $600,000. Rumors about the possibility of this transfer have already emerged after the end of PGL Major, especially since NAVI recently announced that m0NESY was put up for transfer.
In the G2 lineup m0NESY should take the role of a sniper. After Kenny «kennyS» Schrab was sent into inactivation in March, the position was held by François «AmaNEk» Delaunay. However, it is not his main specialization, and therefore the team has been looking for a promising player to take on this role for some time now.
The question of whether m0NESY will be able to cope with top-level performances remains open. He himself recently noted in an interview that he considers himself ready for such challenges. In all three WePlay Academy series in which he participated, Ilya was ranked in the top 3 players, and in the first of them showed an impressive 1.64 rating despite his team not making it to the finals.
Russian insider Alexey «OverDrive» Biryukov mentioned in his post about the m0NESY transfer that under the terms of the deal NAVI will retain the right to buy back. This means that the club will have priority right to buy the player when he leaves the G2 squad. Representatives of the latter have not yet published official comments on the transfer.
