Evil Geniuses scored a win over Triumph at IEM Fall North America

At the group stage of IEM Fall North America, the fate of one of the matches was decided in an unexpected way: the Triumph team got a technical defeat against Evil Geniuses because Triumph player Jack «xCeeD» Holiman overslept the start of the match.

Due to Brendan «Bwills» Williams' transfer to another team, Triumph had already used their substitute player, Wesley «viz» Harris, and therefore had no one to take the place of xCeeD who didn't show up for the match. Adding to the frustration was the fact that the first map was supposed to be Nuke, which Evil Geniuses have never won on in the last six months, while Triumph have a great command of the game on it. As a result, Triumph ended up in fifth place in Group B, and Evil Geniuses – in fourth place.

For Evil Geniuses this free win is of critical importance, as before the score of wins and losses in the group for them was 1 – 1. The incident jeopardized not only Triumph's chances of getting out of the group, but also the possibility of getting to the PGL Stockholm Major. Even if the team finishes the tournament in fifth place, the ranking points it will receive will not be enough to guarantee a place at the majors, and its fate will depend on the performance of its closest competitor – EXTREMUM, which is currently in second place in Group A.
