ESL has announced plans to create a new competition series for women's CS: GO teams. The total prize pool for the events that will take place throughout 2022 will be $500,000. Included will be two online leagues with LAN finals, several online cups with prizes, and a separate tournament at DreamHack Valencia. All these competitions will be closely linked to the #GGFORALL initiative, as well as activities aimed at combating toxicity in the gaming community.
The main part of the competition program will be two regional leagues – European and North American. Eight teams will be able to qualify for each, and will compete for a $75,000 prize pool each season. The top three teams from each league will automatically advance to the offline finals, which will be held during DreamHack Dallas and DreamHack Winter. These six participants will be joined by two more teams, which will be determined by the results of selection in the Asian and South American regions.
In addition, the DreamHack festivals will feature separate competitions with a total prize pool of $100,000. At these, teams will be selected through qualifying tournaments or invited directly. The first such event will take place at DreamHack Valencia from July 1-3. In addition, there will be smaller online competitions each month with $4,000 in prize money for four regions each month.
