ESL announced a partnership with Network Next – a company that builds networking solutions for eSports events. Over the past year, the problems associated with unstable or slow connections have become particularly noticeable to players, as it has been over twelve months since any major tournament has been played in a LAN format. To deal with this problem at least to some extent, ESL decided to join forces with Network Next. The companies will work on creating new technologies that will provide a more comfortable environment for players and improve online competitions – primarily events organized by ESL itself.
ESL spokesperson Trevor Schmidt commented on the partnership as follows: «Over the past year, the pandemic has radically changed the eSports scene and the number of simultaneous online connections has increased dramatically. We want our growing fan base to enjoy the best possible gaming experience, and we believe Network Next will help us realize that vision».
Network Next will be involved in the next ESL Pro League Season 13 event. Developers will gradually integrate new networking features after ESL is satisfied that they work stably.
