ESIC, the organization that oversees fair play rules in cybersports, has announced a new initiative to increase transparency. It will create an information hub where information on completed and ongoing investigations will be published.
It is planned that the initiative will unfold in several phases. The first of these – is the creation of a registry to publish up-to-date information on investigations whose information is no longer classified. At the time this project was announced, there were three open investigations on the registry. One related to allegations of betting fraud against Project X head Oleksandr Shishko, the second – to the now nearly year-long investigation into match-fixing in the North American and Australian divisions of the ESEA MDL, and the third – to the use «of the coaching bug». In addition, an investigation into Nicholas «HUNDEN» Petersen was added to the registry a little later. ESIC promises to publish new data on the latter next week.
In addition, for each investigation, the registry indicates its status: the cases involving the use of a coaching bug and the allegations against Oleksandr Shishko are marked as being in the final stages, while the other two – are marked as active.
In the future, ESIC plans to create another public registry where all sanctions imposed on players will be published. Finally, by November 2021, the organization will also begin to publish information on incoming appeals and their deliberations.
