ESIC disqualified HUNDEN for two years.

The Ebersports Fair Play Commission (ESIC) has announced that former Heroic coach Nikolai «HUNDEN» Petersen will receive a two-year ban. He is accused of giving third parties access to a folder containing the team's preparation materials on the eve of IEM Cologne.

Commenting on this report, ESIC notes that the team to which HUNDEN provided this information also participated in IEM Cologne and, moreover, the coach was considering the possibility of joining it in the future. Although ESIC does not mention its name, it can be assumed to be Astralis – it was previously reported that Petersen is seen as one of the main candidates for the seat now held by Danny «zonic» Sjørensen.

ESIC officials note that the incident did not damage the IEM Cologne event because, as an independent review has determined, the third-party team did not take advantage of the access provided by Petersen. Nevertheless, HUNDEN's actions are seen as «a threat to the reputation of a cybersport event organized by ESIS members» and «a threat to the reputation and competitive principles of cybersport in general» and therefore carry such a severe penalty. HUNDEN's troubles likely won't end there: Heroic has filed a lawsuit against him, so he may face legal action as well.
