Danish project South announced disbandment after defeat by Spirit Academy and the departure of Fessor

The players of the Danish team South, created less than a month ago, have decided to discontinue the project. The first to announce his departure was young cyber athlete Frederik «Fessor» Sørensen. He explained that he did not consider further involvement in the project suitable for himself. In the meantime, he plans to continue performing on the professional scene and is open to offers from other eSports organizations. Sørensen made that decision less than a month after the team's roster was announced in August. During this time South managed to participate in four events, playing a small number of matches – in the last of them it lost to Spirit Academy.

After Fessor decided to leave the project, team leader Mathias «MSL» Lordisen announced the dissolution of South. He noted that the team failed to show its potential in its first few weeks of existence: it failed to qualify for the V4 Sports Festival International and also found itself in 5th-8th place in the qualifying stages of the Funspark ULTI 2021 Europe Regional Series and IEM Fall 2021 Europe. The latest defeat was particularly demoralizing for the team, as after the match against Spirit Academy at the Malta Vibes Knockout Series 2, they found themselves in 25th to 40th place.

The former South members are now free agents, but will find it difficult to find a place in any team in the near future on the eve of major tournaments.
