German team BIG has received an invitation to the V4 Future Sports Festival tournament, which will be held in Hungary in LAN format shortly after the PGL Major in Stockholm. The prize pool for this event is $380,000.
Today, Johannes «tabseN» Wodarza's team is ranked 11th in the world rankings and recently qualified for the majors by finishing in 10th place at IEM Fall Europe. So, with an invitation to the V4 Future Sports Festival, the German team has a very busy schedule for the rest of the year – they are also scheduled to play at major fall and winter tournaments, including Dreamhack Open November, BLAST Premier Fall Final and IEM Winter.
There are 12 teams scheduled to participate in the V4 Future Sports Festival, and six of them are currently known. Four teams (Czech Sinners, Bulgarian Fiend, Polish Wisla Krakow and Serbian ONYX) qualified for this list based on the results of the V4 International Cup. Three more teams will receive direct invitations and the rest will be determined by the results of other local tournaments. So for now, BIG looks like the most likely candidate for the top prize, but that could easily change when the full lineup is known.
