9z has won the last slot at PGL Major Antwerp from America

With a 2 – 9 victory over Brazil's paiN in the sixth-place match at Americas RMR, Team 9z secured a spot in the majors. The day before she won 2 – 1 against Evil Geniuses, thus depriving the competitors of a chance to get to PGL Major Antwerp.

The beginning of the tournament was not very good for 9z. After the South American team suffered two defeats – from MIBR and Evil Geniuses at the start of the tournament, elimination from the tournament became a very real prospect for them. To keep their chances of making it to the majors, 9z needed three straight wins, and they succeeded.

9z won best-of-3 against Bad News Bears, 00NATION, and Sao Caetano, and then got revenge by ending the new Evil Geniuses encounter in their favor. Thus, the question of who would eventually go to the majors was decided in the match against paiN. 9z was able to gain and hold the lead on the first map (Mirage), winning it with a score of 16 – 11. On Dust2 paiN looked more convincing and was able to take the lead for a while. However, by the time the sides changed sides, 9z had narrowed the gap to the smallest (7 – 8). The teams were roughly evenly matched, and overtime was needed to decide the fate of the match. 9z won the card with a score of 19 – 17, thus securing her ticket to Belgium.
